In August 2016, Professor Rhea Ballard-Thrower was appointed Executive Director for the Howard University Library System, which includes Founders Library, the Undergraduate Library and Moorland Spingarn Archives. Professor Ballard-Thrower joined the law faculty in February 2001, and continues to teach at the law school. Professor Ballard-Thrower holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Michigan. Prior to her current directorship for the Howard University Libraries, she served as Director of the Howard University Law Library, Associate Director at the Georgia State University Law Library in Atlanta, Georgia and as Reference Librarian at the Tarlton Law Library at the University of Texas-Austin. Professor Ballard-Thrower has been a legal bibliography instructor, conference presenter, and author of many articles on law librarianship.
