Taubman Library

The University Library Associates (ULA) program is an excellent opportunity for MSI students who are interested in academic and research libraries. The ULA program combines education and work experience in the University Library. Students attend UMSI classes full-time and work a 50 percent appointment in the University Library, earning a full-tuition scholarship, health-care benefits, and a stipend. For more information, read the ULA program description.

Please compile the following information and then upload a single document as an attachment to your application:

  • Current resume or CV.
  • Cover letter. In your cover letter, please clearly identify your most relevant skills, knowledge, and experience related to the ULA positions. Please explain your reasons for your interest in the University of Michigan Library, indicating how a ULA position will help you reach your career aspirations. For the benefit of the selection committee, please indicate the position that most closely matches your interests.
  • Name, title, phone number, email address, and place of employment including city/state/country for three academic or professional references.

To apply for a ULA position, complete and submit the online ULA application form. This form should be submitted in addition to the standard UMSI application. The deadline is January 15, and final decisions are typically made in the end of March or early April.
