Giving Blueday benefits U-M and UMSI

On November 29, 2016, the University of Michigan will hold its third annual Giving Blueday, a 24-hour day of giving, scheduled on Giving Tuesday - a global day of giving following Thanksgiving weekend.

While donations to any fund and in any amount are very welcome, three UMSI funds deserve special consideration.

Annual Fund: The UMSI annual fund is used at the discretion of the Dean where it is most needed. In the past year, over 75% of the annual fund was used to support student scholarships. It is also used to support school wide activities and other student initiatives such as the A2 Data Dive. Make a gift directly to the annual fund here.

Barbara Palmer

Horizon Fund: Thanks to the generosity of UMSI alumna Barbara Palmer, AMLS '68, donors to the UMSI Horizon Fund will have their donations matched dollar for dollar on Giving Blueday. The Horizon Fund was started by UMSI's Recent Graduate Campaign Council, and will be used to provide financial support to School of Information students pursuing educational experiences that take place outside of the classroom that enhance their classroom learning. These experiences may include but are not limited to, travel, internships, and service engagement experiences.

Barbara Palmer has pledged to match up to $3,425 in gifts made to the Horizon Fund on Giving Blueday. On November 29, have your donation matched by giving here

iDream Fund: iDream stands for “Developing Remarkable Entrepreneurs Across Michigan.” This fund supports experiential and co-curricular learning opportunities for students in the Entrepreneurial space. Gifts to this fund on Giving Blueday will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000 thanks to a generous gift from UMSI Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Director of the Entrepreneurship Program, Walt Borland.
