MPublishing is the hub of scholarly publishing at the University of Michigan, and owned by the dynamic and innovative University of Michigan Library. MPublishing is a group of publishers, librarians and technologists, working together to support scholarly communication and to publish and preserve the scholarly record. They publish a wide range of material including journals, monographs, and websites across many scholarly fields. MPublishing works with scholars to develop affordable, innovative, and sustainable publishing solutions. They are also committed to experimentation and to the preservation of scholarly publications.
“We like to think that MPublishing has a mutually beneficial relationship with the School of Information. We frequently hire SI students as interns and temporary staff. They bring an interest in preserving and disseminating information, values that are central to our mission of publishing scholarly literature online in sustainable ways. Our student employees tell us that they value the opportunity to apply the principles and ideals that they learn about in class in a hands-on way through their work with us, and that these skills feed back into their coursework the next semester or year.”
