Addressing workplace behavior: Incivility, microaggressions and bullying

The UMSI Career Development Office will hold a workshop on "Addressing Workplace Behavior: Incivility, Microaggressions, and Bullying." The workshop will be hosted in partnership with the Center for the Education of Women.
The event is part of the UMSI-CDO Career Series: Women in Information, which will also include a workshop on salary negotiation strategies, an alumni career panel and a keynote speech by Erin Teague, a director of product management at Yahoo.
While this series is focused on career paths and success strategies for women, it is open to all UMSI students.
About the speakers:
Gloria D. Thomas, PhD | CEW Director
Dr. Thomas serves as Director of the Center for the Education of Women (CEW) at the University of Michigan. She was Associate Director of the American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Program and Office of Women in Higher Education before joining CEW in 2008. Dr. Thomas serves on the boards of Re:Gender (formerly the National Council for Research on Women) and the Washtenaw Community College Foundation. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from UM's Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education.
Kirsten A. Elling, Ph.D. | Associate Director for Counseling, Programs & Services
Dr. Elling oversees CEW's career and educational counseling, as well as program offerings for students, faculty, staff, and community members. Her role includes running CEW's Advanced Leadership Program. Dr. Elling also serves on a number of U-M committees and consults and collaborates with a range of U-M units/departments.
