2018 School of Information expoSItion
Michigan League Ballroom
expoSItion is an event designed to learn about UMSI student innovations and skills person-to-person. This annual showcase allows UMSI students to exhibit projects to employers, peers, prospective students, faculty and the University of Michigan community. Student projects are diverse, cutting edge, and focus on solving real-world information problems.
Employers attend the exposition to see students' skills in action and to aid in their recruitment efforts. Attendees will be able to evaluate presentation skills of potential interns/employees, to build relationships with students, and to generate interest and awareness of their organizations. Attendees will also be given resumes of every student expoSItion participant for continued recruitment efforts.
Project categories are: Archives/Libraries, BSI Capstone, Community/Service/Civic Tech, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Entrepreneurial/Innovation, and Technology/Design.
Some of the projects are developed for submission to the annual international student design competition at the Computer-Human Interaction (CHI) Conference, as well as other national conferences such as the American Library Association (ALA), and the Society of American Archivists (SAA) and others.
This event is free and open to the public.
