CSCW 2018

University of Michigan School of Information faculty and PhD students have been awarded two "Best Papers" and one "Best Paper" honorable mention at CSCW 2018. CSCW 2018 is the 21st ACM Conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing and occurs November 3-7 in New York City. 

Best paper awards went to "Hacking with NPOs: Collaborative Analytics and Broker Roles in Civic Data Hackatons" by Youyang Hou and Dakuo Wang and "We can go anywhere’: Understanding independence through a case study of ride-hailing use by people with visual impairments in metropolitan India" by Vaishnav Kameswaran, Jatin Gupta, Joyojeet Pal, Sile O’Modhrain, Tiffany Veinot,  Robin N. Brewer, Aakanksha Parameshwar, Vidhya Y, and Jacki O’Neill. “Social Media as Social Transition Machinery” by Oliver L. Haimson was awarded a Best Paper honorable mention.
