CSCW 2019

University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) faculty and PhD students are presenting more than three dozen papers, posters and workshops at the 2019 ACM Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) November 9 - 13 in Austin, Texas.

CSCW is the leading conference for presenting research in the design and use of technologies that affect groups, organizations, and communities. The conference brings together top researchers and practitioners from academia and industry who are interested in both the technical and social aspects of collaboration. Eric Gilbert,  associate professor of information, is this year's conference general co-chair. Associate professor Libby Hemphill is Panel Co-chair, assistant professor Silvia Lindtner is Diversity and Inclusion Co-chair, and PhD student Lindsay Blackwell is Communication and Outreach Co-chair.

Papers authored by UMSI researchers have earned two Best Paper and five Honorable Mention designations. Additionally, Paul Resnick, Michael D. Cohen Professor of Information and Associate Dean for Research, will receive the “CSCW Lasting Impact Award” for groundbreaking research he co-authored.
