Students represent UMSI at Midwest Drupal Camp 2017

~ Andie Dumas and Amanda Grayson present "Project Management and Yoga: Not Such a Stretch."

Three UMSI students were selected to present sessions at the recent Midwest Drupal Camp (MidCamp) in Chicago. This annual event brings together people who use, develop, design and support the content management platform Drupal.  The conference was held on the campus of DePaul University, March 30–April 2, 2017.

On Friday, March 31, Bachelor of Science in Information seniors Amanda Grayson and Andie Dumas presented a session entitled “Project Management and Yoga: Not Such a Stretch.” Their session included basic terminology in project management and a walk through a Project Manager’s role, along with simple yoga exercises that gave workshop participants a chance to stretch both their minds and their bodies at the same time.

Saturday, April 1, Amanda Grayson (below, right) and first-year Master of Science in Information student Yujin Gu (below, left) offered a session on "Fundamentals of UX Design and Usability." They presented an overview of user experience and usability research for goal-driven design, explained why UX and usability are important, and demonstrated examples of how attendees could increase the usability of their sites or products with usability testing.
