My research interest lies at the intersection of education and data science, so called learning analytics. My work focuses on analyzing digital traces in educational settings to understand 1) how course design influences student engagement & academic performance, and 2) how students' social interactions with peers affect their academic performance and choices. My research employed a wide range of statistical and computational techniques, such as multilevel modeling, network analysis, time-series/temporal analysis, and machine learning.
