Marsha Antal — School Registrar

Coordinates curriculum and class scheduling, student records, student registration, and Office of Student Affairs operations. Oversees and implements academic policies and procedures.

Jill Coughlin - Intercultural and Global Engagement Coordinator

Leads advising, programming, and related activities for all UMSI students who seek to participate in global programs. Manages UMSI's signature global engagement programs, including the Global Information Engagement Program (GIEP), Peace Corps partnerships, study abroad opportunities, and other global experiences. Develops and facilitates on-campus events and programming aimed at promoting deep global learning and intercultural awareness.

Katie Dunn — Career Counselor

Provides career counseling and advising on job search strategies, resumes, cover letters, and interviewing with a focus on internships for first year students. Coordinates the UMSI Internship Program, which includes monitoring of credit-based internships. Schedule an appointment with Katie

Laura Elgas — Director, Admissions and Student Affairs

Provides oversight for the development, implementation and administration of academic and student affairs activities for UMSI.  This includes academic and financial aid advising, recruitment and admissions, registration and student records, student life and other student related activities serving PhD, masters, and undergraduate students.

Veronica Falandino — Associate Director of Admissions and Student Affairs

Oversees the functional areas of recruiting, admissions, academic programs and services, and student affairs. 


Linh Huynh — Academic Advisor

Linh provides academic advising for current students in the Bachelor of Science in Information program, including assisting students with a range of concerns related to academic success and personal well-being. Linh uses a holistic and strengths-based approach when working with students—integrating students’ background, experiences and values to support student’s goals and development during and beyond their time at the University of Michigan.

Devon Keen — Assistant Director for Outreach and External Transfers

Devon develops, leads, facilitates, manages, and supports OSA outreach, recruitment, and retention efforts for external transfer students to attract students to and prepare them for the University of Michigan Bachelor of Science in Information program. Collaborates regularly with external university partners, school leadership, faculty and staff from within the school and university in order to contribute to the achievement and maintenance of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community in the School of Information.


Annie Knill — Assistant Director, Health Informatics Program

Manages the graduate program in Health Informatics, a joint program of the School of Information and the School of Public Health. Responsible for the oversight of recruitment, admissions, academic services, career services, and communications for the program. Also provides academic advising. 

Kelly Kowatch —  Director of Professional and Community Engagment

Leads a cross-disciplinary team with the goal of facilitating transformational, high-quality engaged learning experiences for all UMSI students. Oversees the management, coordination, facilitation, and teaching of programs related to community and industry engagement, civic technology, global experiences, and design, innovation, and entrepreneurial initiatives. Schedule an appointment with Kelly.

Joanna Kroll — Director of Career Development

Oversees all career development activities for the school. Provides career counseling and job search advising to second-year students. Manages employer relations and development, on-campus recruiting activities and the UMSI Internship Program. Schedule an appointment with Joanna.



Katy Peters — Undergraduate Program Manager

Manages the undergraduate program in Information. Oversees recruitment, admissions, academic services, career services, and communications for the program. Also provides academic and career advising to undergraduate Informatics students enrolled in or considering the social computing track. Schedule an appointment with Katy

Sarah Regan — Assistant Director, Master of Science in Information Program

Provides management of the Master of Science in Information (MSI) program operations, including advising, curriculum planning, student life, and other student-facing aspects of the program.

T.J. Shannon — MHI Recruiting and Admissions Coordinator

Coordinates recruiting events, communicates with prospective students, oversees information mentors, and coordinates admissions processes.

George Sprague — Academic Programs Coordinator

Coordinates and assists in supporting various academic programs and services within UMSI. The Academic Programs Coordinator works closely with faculty academic program chairs to support the efforts of each academic program and coordinates efforts in support of student academic success while supporting academic programs with the coordination of events and activities, academic program committees, student financials, academic success service, and probation reporting.

 Allison Sweet — Graduate Programs Coordinator

Supports master's and doctoral candidates as they progress through the program to graduation. Advises UMSI student groups; identifies, processes, and maintains student funding, serves as the connection to the Rackham Graduate School, and collaborates with candidates to ensure that academic requirements are achieved. Also coordinates UMSI Orientation and Graduation events.

Rachael Wiener — Assistant Director of Recruiting and Admissions  

Michael Williams — Career Development Associate

Coordinates career programming such as on-campus recruiting, mock interviews, as well as the UMSI Network (student & alumni networking program). Provides administrative support for the Career Development Office, including the UMSI Internship Program and Alternative Spring Break. Acts as system administrator for iTrack. Provides part-time job search advising to incoming and current students, as well as resume reviews.
