Triple honors for mid-program MSI student

Madeline Sheldon’s summer internship at the Library of Congress caps an award-filled first year as a master’s student at UMSI. She received two scholarships from the American Library Association: the GODORT (Government Documents Round Table) 2013 W. David Rozkuszka Scholarship and a 2013/2014 Spectrum Scholarship. In addition, the Library of Congress has appointed her a 2013 Summer Internship Junior Fellow, one of just 41 fellows, selected from a field of 1100 applicants.

Madeline is spending her ten-week paid internship with the library’s National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program, a subsidiary of the Office of Strategic Initiatives. She has been working on digital preservation policy research within cultural heritage institutions; producing a digital preservation video; contributing bi-weekly to The Signal, a digital preservation blog; and creating a poster to present at the Digital Preservation 2013 Meeting
