SI SpotlightEliz Breakstone (MSI '04)
"SI is very interdisciplinary, and so I think it's good in that even though you're a Library and Information Services student, you're being exposed to different aspects of information science."
|
Before SI: Majored in history and anthropology at Oberlin College.
At SI: Started her MSI program focused on archival studies, but switched to library and information services after she took a part-time job at the graduate library reference desk and "just sort of fell in love with it," she says.

On graduation was honored with both the Edmon Low Award, chosen by her colleagues, and the Margaret Mann Award, chosen by the SI faculty.
After SI: Now at the University of Oregon, she is collection librarian in the John E. Jaqua Law Library. Previously, she was social science reference librarian at the University of Oregon. An essay she wrote about the future of librarianship has appeared in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
