"SI is an intellectual crossroads of many disciplines," Erik says. "The easy access down any of the roads to business, complexity, and political science was wonderful to develop a true multidisciplinary research agenda."

At SI: Erik found that one of the assets of the School of Information is being able to take advantage of the wealth of resources at the the University of Michigan. He also enjoyed the collegiality of the SI doctoral program. "The Ph.D. community at SI is special. The amount of collaboration because of diverse expertise is unique. The health of the community and the spirit of participation to continue to develop it was something special," he says.
