Advisory Board membership


Board members are appointed by the dean. Criteria for selection may vary depending on current board makeup and the school’s evolving needs. Some desired qualifications include:

  • Professional or academic accomplishments in information, library or data science-related field 
  • History of volunteerism or engagement with U-M, UMSI or wider community
  • Philanthropic support of U-M, UMSI or other charitable organizations

Nomination process

Nominations for board members are accepted on a rolling basis, with new members selected each spring. You may self-nominate or nominate others. Please complete the nomination form if you are interested.
