Career guidance for professional success

The UMSI Career Development Office is a team of career development experts devoted to providing UMSI students with strategic, customized and comprehensive career services. We do much more than help students find jobs as they near graduation. We are with you every step of the way coaching, empowering and supporting you from orientation through to commencement. 

We offer career coaching, career courses to prepare you for your internship search, workshops to help you develop effective job search skills, and interview preparation as well as a robust on-campus recruiting program and career fair to provide you with access to many employers who want to hire you.  Everything we do is designed to help you achieve career success for a lifetime.    

Gain real-world experience

Practical experience is an essential part of our undergraduate and master’s programs. The CDO team works with students to provide them with opportunities to take what they are learning in the classroom into the real world through internships.  

Access to employers

We help students connect with a broad range of employers across all industries and around the world. Through job postings, resume collections, on-campus recruiting, career fairs and networking events, connecting with alumni across fields, and actively engaging in outreach to employers in the U.S. and abroad, we provide valuable opportunities for our students to network with desirable employers.

We engage with employers locally and globally to create high touch, personalized partnerships to facilitate beneficial recruiting relationships. All employers have access to strategic consultations with our office to design a recruiting strategy customized to meet their organizational needs.
