Joanne Huang (MSI ’24) spent the summer designing products at Meta’s Reality Labs in Burlingame, California. “My work included enhancing the app purchase experience across headset and mobile devices, focusing on social engagement and using VR prototyping,” she says.

"I gained hands-on experience aligning strategy with situations and facilitating discussions to drive team success, making me a purpose-driven designer that brings people together. I learned to be versatile, resourceful and brave to take ownership.”

Joanne found SI 559 Introduction to AR/VR Application Design and SI 579 Building Interactive Applications to be particularly helpful in preparing for a successful internship.
