Maria Bronson
Maria Bronson (MSI ’24) did not anticipate that her summer as a UX intern would change the trajectory of her career. “I liked it so much that I plan on working at OneMagnify after I graduate,” she says.
During her time at the Detroit office, Maria helped clients make their websites faster, secure and accessible using design. “I created low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes and conducted competitive analyses and expert reviews both internally and for external clients,” Maria says. “My designs shaped the development process and, in the end, helped build websites with increased user engagement and return on investment.”
“The most unexpected part was just how amazing and positive the experience was,” she says. “I was treated with respect, praised and included at OneMagnify. I was given ample time to complete my tasks, I was trusted to determine my own schedule and I was able to learn without stress.”
Maria credits a few UMSI courses with helping prepare her for interning at OneMagnify. “SI 539 Web Design Responsiveness and Accessibility and SI 622 Needs Assessment and Usability Evaluation were particularly useful and taught me principles that I applied throughout my internship.”
