Ruth Person

Ruth Person (PhD 1980) was the first female Chancellor of the University of Michigan - Flint, a position she held from 2008 to 2014. Before coming to Michigan, she had served as the Chancellor of Indiana University Kokomo since 1999. After stepping down from the Chancellorship at U-M Flint in 2014, she returned to teaching and is currently a professor of management in the School of Management at UM-Flint. 

She earned her bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. She also holds an MS degree in administration from George Washington University School of Business and Public Management. At Michigan, she earned a master’s degree in library science and a PhD from the School of Information. She is listed in a number of Who's Who publications.
