12 UMSI students awarded 2024-25 CEW+ scholarships and fellowships

Twelve students from the University of Michigan School of Information have been awarded 2024-25 scholarships and fellowships by the Center for the Education of Women+. The recipients represent all five of UMSI’s degree programs. 

They join a cohort of 100 scholarship recipients and 13 graduate fellows across U-M who were selected through a highly competitive process as leaders with the potential to make a significant impact on their field. 

The CEW+ Scholarship Program, which today serves women and underserved students, was established in 1970 to honor the academic performance and potential of women whose education has been interrupted and to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the admission of women to U-M.

  • Medha Kapoor, Master of Health Informatics and Master of Business Administration student
  • Julia Kassab, Bachelor of Science in Information student, information analysis
  • Victor Ogobi, Master of Applied Data Science student
  • Pedro Pazmino, Master of Science in Information, user experience research and design
  • Olive Ren, Bachelor of Science in Information student, user experience design
  • Zayna Suleiman, Master of Health Informatics student
  • Jasper Tinoco, Master of Science in Information student, user-centered agile development
  • Xiwei Yang, Master of Science in Information Science student, user-centered agile development

The 2024-25 CEW+ scholars and fellows were honored at a ceremony and luncheon on Sunday, Oct. 27, in the Ballroom of the Michigan League.
