University of Michigan School of Information professor Kishonna Gray appeared on Tavis Smiley as part of a wide-ranging discussion on politics, culture and media alongside a group of prominent national voices, including jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater and U.S. Representative Tyvette D. Clarke. 

Gray, whose research examines race, gender and digital spaces, contributed insight on how digital spaces and discourse contribute to broader social dynamics. In the episode, Gray talks about the rhetoric following the attempted assassination of U.S. President Trump, including the rapid spread of conspiracy theories and speculation across social media platforms.
