Schaub: Scammers are targeting students by posing as trusted sources

From fake job postings to misleading scholarship offers, college students are being targeted by fraudsters. 

University of Michigan School of Information associate professor Florian Schaub, an expert on privacy and security, told WXYZ Detroit why students are especially vulnerable to scams, and how to protect themselves. 

"Anywhere where this is a financial transaction possible or involved, that's a good target for scammers,” Schaub says. “"Be skeptical. Don't click. Be smarter than the scammers.”
