On April 6, 2023, five teams of University of Michigan students pitched digital learning tools to a panel of judges in the Marsal Family School of Education’s annual James A. Kelly Learning Lever Prize competition. Five School of Information students earned awards for designing tools with the potential to significantly improve student learning.  

$1,000 Development Award 
Team: Master of Science in Information students Mayank Kinger and Pooja Mandagere
Project: TeamUp, an application for creating better groupings in K-12 settings 

$4,000 Development Award 
Team: School of Education PhD student Devon Riter and Master of Science in Information students Prajakta Bonde, Muskaan Dhadwal and Rhea Mirani
Project: CommunityConnect, a platform that connects students, teachers and community changemakers to build impactful and authentic learning experiences for the classroom
