Hibby Thach

Biography

Hibby Thach is a PhD student at the University of Michigan's School of Information. She researches content moderation, live-streaming, and queer and trans people of color's online experiences with various platforms and technologies. They primarily use interview and digital ethnographic methods, valuing and centering the narratives of multi-marginalized people like her. Her work engages with HCI, Communication and Media Studies, and creative labor and the creative economy. 

As part of her work on live-streaming, she runs a Twitch channel and streams variety content. They are also a graduate student coordinator for the Trans Studies Research Workshop at the University of Michigan.
