Learn more about the BSI program
If you are interested in talking to someone from our admissions team about your specific pathway and background, how to prepare your application, and to learn more about the program, please email [email protected]. Please also sign up on our interest list to get regular updates about upcoming events and application deadlines.
Attend an information session
If you are interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree at the School of Information, please sign up to attend one of our information sessions. These sessions cover a variety of topics, including the overall Bachelor of Science in Information (BSI) program and the admissions process. We provide information sessions for current University of Michigan cross-campus transfers and students interested in transferring from other institutions, including community colleges. For additional information regarding the program specifically, email [email protected].
For current University of Michigan students:
Before applying, we recommend all students attend a BSI information session. Sessions are hosted on different days and at different times to accommodate the most students possible. A student only needs to attend one information session.
Please join our interest list to receive notices and reminders for upcoming information sessions.
We are so glad we had the chance to connect with many of you in the fall 2024 semester. There are no more information sessions available for the fall 2024 semester. Please check back at the beginning of the winter 2025 semester for additional days and times.
Ask an Ambassador Sessions:
Ask an Ambassador sessions are available for prospective students to learn more about the program from a current BSI student. Students will receive information from a student’s perspective as well as information on deadlines and application requirements. Student Ambassadors are not authorized to provide advising about schedules.
All Ask an Ambassador sessions for fall 2025 have been completed. At the end of December, new Ask an Ambassador Appointments will be posted. Check back soon to schedule your Ask an Ambassador appointment for the winter 2025 semester.

Current BSI students applying to UMSI through the cross-campus transfer pathway for the fall 2025 program are encouraged to attend this upcoming application workshop to learn more about the review process, get detailed information about what we look for, and ask your application questions.
