Community College Summer Institute Virtual Information Session
11:00 a.m. - Noon
All current Michigan community college students curious about the University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) and the study of information are welcome to attend the Community College Summer Institute (CCSI) virtual information sessions hosted by UMSI's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office. Although the institute focuses on the transfer of Michigan community college students, we also encourage students from four-year and out-of-state institutions to join the information sessions and apply.
Sandra Lopez, DEI outreach coordinator for UMSI, leads CCSI virtual information session participants through:
- What to expect before CCSI: a virtual orientation to get acquainted with CCSI staff and meet your team members
- What happens during CCSI: the opportunity to consult with the UMSI admissions team and gain professional development, access to financial aid advising, an introduction to academic and career opportunities in information analysis and user experience design, and housing, meals and a stipend
- Benefits after CCSI: your Official Transfer Readiness Certificate and priority consideration for direct admission to UMSI's Bachelor of Science in Information program
