Provost Laurie McCauley has announced the appointment of an advisory committee to assist in the search for the next dean of the University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI).  

The members are:

In an email to the UMSI community, Provost McCauley said, “At the first meeting, I charged the committee to conduct a broad search and present an unranked slate of recommended candidates.  The committee will be working with Heidrick and Struggles. I look forward to the selection of a new dean who will further enhance the School’s research and education. This is an important search and I welcome your support in the process.”

Elizabeth Yakel, the C. Olivia Frost Collegiate Professor of Information, has been interim dean at the School of Information since August, when former Dean Thomas A. Finholt became the university’s Vice Provost for Academic and Budgetary Affairs.
