MADS Seminar Series - Adapting the Product Growth Data Science Discipline with Agents and AI Tools (Virtual)

Engaged Learning Event

Location: Virtual
Wednesday, Sep 30, 2026 Noon - 1:30 p.m.
Mode: Virtual
Audience: All U-M

In this session, MADS alumnus and Principal Data Scientist Ryan Bouchard will walk through how he has fundamentally changed his approach to product growth data science work through the use of new agent frameworks and tools that have been released within the last year. He will demonstrate the stack and process he uses to be more effective in his daily work. He will also provide perspective on where he sees organizations investing in AI agents to do analytics, where they miss the mark, and where people with MADS degrees can come in and have impact in a new organization.

Speaker: Ryan Bouchard is a Principal Data Scientist in Microsoft Fabric's product group. Over the last ten years, he has applied analytics, causal inference, and predictive modeling techniques while working across Azure and developer tool groups such as VS Code and GitHub Copilot. He earned his BA (2009), MBA (2016), and MADS (2026) degrees from the University of Michigan.
