Volunteer and engagement opportunities

UMSI students often share how meaningful it is to connect with alumni. Hearing about your professional experiences shows them what’s possible with an information degree. Through client-based projects and networking with your organizations, they not only build their portfolios but also contribute to building your organization’s capacity. Your involvement shapes the future of UMSI while deepening your connections with fellow alumni, students and faculty.
Connect with students
Host a UMSI student project through client-based courses and programs such as Alternative Spring Break. Email the Engaged Learning Office ([email protected]) with questions.
Recruit current UMSI students for internships and jobs at your organization. Create a recruiting presence by participating in career fairs, design jams and panels. Email the Career Development Office ([email protected]) with questions.
- Mentor students through the Alumni Career Connections Program. By volunteering one hour of time for virtual engagement, you'll help students expand their professional network, gain industry insight, improve their job search readiness and gain confidence. There are opportunities for 1:1 career chats, portfolio/resume reviews and mock interviews. Sign up today!
