Sarah is a public relations specialist for UMSI. Her work includes telling the inspiring stories of the work of the school’s faculty, researchers and scholars. She also collaborates with Michigan News to pitch those stories to regional, national and global media audiences.

Sarah has a PhD in geology from the University of Cincinnati, a certificate in science communication from the University of California-Santa Cruz, and a deep level of experience both as a scientist and a science writer. Before joining UMSI, Sarah was a freelance journalist and assistant producer of Big Picture Science radio show.
