Joyce Bonk Assistantship
The Joyce Bonk Assistantship is a departmental funding opportunity that combines education and work experience for incoming MSI students. Students attend classes full-time while working approximately 20 hours per week at the University of Michigan and receive a full tuition scholarship, health care benefits and a stipend.
This two-year appointment is based in the Clements Library and is ideal for students interested in special collections, digital preservation or archives. Students are considered for the assistantship as part of the MSI admissions and departmental funding process, based on the materials submitted with their MSI application; no separate application is required.
The Joyce Bonk Assistantship is offered every other year and is not available in every admissions cycle. When the assistantship is available, eligible incoming students are automatically considered as part of the departmental funding review process. Applicants with questions about the assistantship's availability in a given admissions cycle may contact the MSI admissions team at [email protected].
